In the once booming coal-mining town of Lynch, Kentucky, singer/songwriter, Brooklyhn Woods grew up loving the music of her mountain roots. From the moment she opens her mouth there is no doubt that country is not just her chosen genre, it’s who she is to the core. With every note, her vocals drip with the sound of her Kentucky heritage and her writing echoes the tradition of so many that came before her.

Head to toe Brooklyhn Wood’s exudes qualities that make an artist truly great: talent, personal style, courage, optimism and a confident sense of whom she is. A great love for her music along with a unique sense of fashion and style bring new challenges to her creative spirit which she boldly meets each day.

A proud member of ASCAP and NSAI, Brooklyhn is influenced by many of the great singer/songwriters of country music’s past and present. She’s inspired by the vocal styling of Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood while her writing style speaks to the intellectual that she is. Writing songs of empowerment, change, love and hurt she patterns her style after the likes of Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton.

“I especially admire Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn not only because of their great talent as singer/songwriters but because they’ve never forgotten where they came from. They continue to give back to the communities they grew up in spite of the fact they are known and loved worldwide. If I have the privilege of becoming half as well known as them, I want to be that kind of woman. I never want to lose sight of where I come from and the people who shaped me along the way.”

Guided by the inspiration of these great artist, Brooklyhn enjoys donating her time and talent to organizations such as Relay for Life, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer and the Empty Stocking Fund, an organization that donates toys, clothing and food to those less fortunate in her county. She also hones her skills performing in the many festivals and fairs all over Kentucky and notable venues in Nashville including Wild Horse Saloon and Puckett’s Grocery.

Winning numerous talent contests, 2010 GCGMA’s Most Promising Vocalist and Entertainer of the Year and NACMAI’s Most Promising Star of Tomorrow boosted her confidence and gave this beautiful young performer the push she needed to dream bigger.

While visiting Nashville, TN, Brooklyhn caught the attention of Nashville music business veteran, Bernard Porter, President of PCG Nashville. With encouragement from family and friends, Brooklyhn took the opportunity to give her dreams a real chance and signed with America’s top artist development company PCG Nashville. “Brooklyhn possesses the “it” factor. She is intelligent, beautiful and very talented but she also has a little something extra. We saw tremendous potential in her and we’ve watched her grow from a girl with a lot of natural ability and style into an artist with a real shot at success in this business,” states Porter.

This blinged out country girl is going places and she’s destined to put Harlan County’s Lynch, Kentucky back on the map.
